Researchers indicate three very important elements that must be addressed for achieving
                 behaviour change:

                 1. Readiness to change
                 2. Barriers to change

                 3. Factors that can trigger “relapse” to former behaviour

The Stages of Change Model identifies six stages in the process of behaviour change:
                                               20
                 1. Pre-Contemplation

                 2. Contemplation
                 3. Preparation/Determination

                 4. Action
                 5. Relapse

                 6. Maintenance

When designing the social marketing strategy, these elements must be considered. Further,

it must be noted that the timeframe and pace for each stage may differ, not only among
                 individuals but also among communities.
