should be minimal, focussed on sexual and reproductive health, laws, and rights especially
regarding IPV. Where possible, advocacy for job skill preparation and expansion should be
undertaken. Media will include mostly radio, music, face-to-face testimonials from known
celebrities and some TV programmes. Indicators will entail primarily male self-reporting, in
individual and group settings and some reporting by family members.
Sustainability
Given the short duration of the CSJP Social Norms initiative, sustainability of messages will
depend on the sustainability of other activities. The campaign needs to run for a minimum
of eighteen months to two years and should be embedded in a policy that includes
social media, marketing and behaviour change components at the family, school and
community levels to re-enforce the media messages. Without this, behaviour change and
sustainability is unlikely to occur.
