THE IMPACT EVALUATION
INTRODUCTION
The methodology/identification strategy used was Experimental (Randomized Control
Trial). Thirty communities were randomly weighted and pre-selected without replacement
from the 50 communities served by CSJP (Appendix VI). There were 373 parents - 224 in
the treatment group and 149 in the control group. By the first follow-up data collection
exercise 266 parents had been reached: 159 in the treatment group and 107 in the
control group. The evaluation sought to determine the impact that the CSJP parenting
programme had on Coercive parenting practices. A control group, consisting of parents
who were not selected in the first year, was used to evaluate the programme at the end
of year one. The plan was for these parents, to become eligible for participation in year
two of the programme.
POPULATION
Market Research Services Limited (MRSL) advised that a total of 373 parents and 583
children were targeted for this survey. In the final analysis 266 parents and 379 children
participated: The breakdown of these participants is depicted in the graphs below. (MRSL
Report, November 2019, p. 5).
