The CPTs who were selected received further on-going monthly training and support to
deliver parent training lessons to parents twice weekly in their homes over a three-month
period, and continuing with the parents twice per month for another three months,
Monthly Revision Sessions for CPTs
Monthly revision sessions were held over the six months for the CPTs to review the materials
that were delivered for the ensuing weeks, and to assist with any challenges that prevailed.
The sessions were practical/ hands-on interactions that allowed CPTs to hone their skills and
develop confidence in delivery. Social Workers and Psychologists of the Psychological
Services Unit facilitated the sessions.
Identification of Parent/s/ Families for Intervention
The parent/s who were engaged in the programme had children drawn from two age
cohorts:
1. Children 6 – 9 years old (Primary school)
2. Children 10 – 15 years old (Upper Primary - Lower High School)
The parents were recruited subject to administration of the risk assessment instrument that
determined their level of risk for coercive parenting practice. The selection methodology
deployed also adequately supported the impact evaluation that measured the outcome
of the intervention.
